Technology Rooted in Human Experience

Trust in healthcare is declining. Compassion and credibility are eroding.

Survival Story is built for this moment.

As our flagship product, Survival Story combines interactive storytelling with evidence-based clinical tools to support shared decision-making and risk mitigation in opioid use disorder (OUD) care. Designed for providers, health systems, and pharmaceutical partners, it goes beyond compliance to rebuild trust—aligning with REMS, the MATE Act, and Joint Commission standards.

We’re actively updating our platform to reflect our latest progress. Check back soon or reach out to explore collaboration.

From Pilot to Platform: Evolving with Purpose

Survival Story began as a series of community exhibits—designed to blend visual storytelling with harm reduction training. Across four public installations, we trained 110 participants, distributed 177 Narcan kits, and heard firsthand how the experience shifted perspectives and inspired change.

A woman in recovery left determined to become a treatment counselor.

Clinicians told us it reframed how they think about OUD.

People felt seen.

Flagship Product: Survival Story

01

Strengthening Clinical Decision-Making

Survival Story is an interactive, web-based platform designed to support clinical decision-making in opioid use disorder (OUD) care. Through emotionally resonant storytelling and intuitive design, it helps providers navigate complex conversations while aligning with regulatory requirements like REMS and the MATE Act.

Rather than simply informing, Survival Story fosters reflection, clarity, and patient-centered action—bridging the gap between policy and real-world practice.

02

Building Trust and Understanding

In a time of fractured communication and stigma, Survival Story creates space for empathy. By immersing users in realistic, human-centered scenarios, the platform strengthens the provider–patient relationship and promotes deeper understanding of the lived experiences behind OUD.

This foundation of trust supports better care, stronger adherence, and more meaningful engagement with harm reduction strategies.

03

Driving System-Level Impact

Survival Story is designed for healthcare systems, pharmaceutical partners, and frontline clinicians who need to meet risk mitigation goals without sacrificing human connection.

By focusing on relationships, empathy, and context—not just compliance—it enables organizations to reduce stigma, align clinical messaging, and improve outcomes in opioid safety and treatment engagement.

Our Approach

Tech Innovations

At SocialTheory, we blend innovative technology with human-centered storytelling to strengthen clinical decision-making and rebuild trust in opioid care.

Our flagship platform, Survival Story, is in active pilot testing. Designed to support opioid risk mitigation through shared decision-making, it aligns with REMS and MATE Act requirements while prioritizing empathy, understanding, and real-world impact.

We’re currently seeking partners—health systems, providers, and compliance teams—interested in shaping this next-generation approach. If you’d like to be part of the process, we’d love to connect.

Collaborating with DALI Lab at Dartmouth College, we're at the forefront of developing an interactive web-based training platform that merges data-driven insights with engaging storytelling.
